Minimum Technical Requirements for eLifeline Courses

 

Operating Systems:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

Mac OS-X (10.5 and Greater)

Browsers:

Windows – Internet Explorer 7 (and Greater)

Mozilla Firefox  3.x (and Greater)

Macintosh – Safari 4.x (and Greater)

Mozilla Firefox  3.x (and Greater)

Google Chrome (2015 and later)

 

(Most recent browser versions highly preferred & recommended)

 

Software:

Windows – Adobe Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com)

Macintosh – Preview (application – pre-supplied) or Adobe Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com)

All Platforms:  Ability to check email and valid email address

Hardware:

Monitor capable of 1024 x 768 resolution or better

 Internet Connection:

Broadband at a rate of 1.5 mbps or greater, or 4G/LTE cellular
(Be aware that watching videos over cellular may greatly impact data plan usage)

Mobile Web Browsers:

iPhone (iOS 5 and up, iPhone 3GS and up)  In “Settings” panel, select “Safari”.  “Block Pop-ups” must currently be set to “Off”.

Android smartphones are currently not fully supported (the great variety of hardware and software combinations preclude adequate testing), although most should typically allow access to course videos and syllabi.
